Only people carriers will do.

I could not decide where to put this so I opted for this page in the blog. Forgive me for being cynical when it come,s to this stuff, but it,s a genuine hate for hypocrisy that annoys me. This statement clearly says that it is okay to put children without seat belts at risk up to May 2009. The cynic in me wants to know why a prestigious organisation like the Road Safety Authority would accept any kind of a concession regarding the safety of children. The only conclusion I can come to is they accepted this under political instruction, because of a fear of a backlash from parents. Clearly if a couple has more than 3 children from May 2009 they will need a people carrier, no ordinary saloon car will suffice to transport their children together as a family, or else they will need two cars or more, depending on the size of their family. Parents with ten children will need a minibus. I wonder why the government are not telling parents about this?

Road Safety Authority

I found a couple of anomalies and inconsistencies in the new Road Safety Authority rules of the road website. I stopped looking after the three examples here.

The significance of these is that the Road Safety authority is charged with a very serious job. I expect 110% accuracy from this organisation considering the importance of their job.

I personally do not believe they have done a good job thus far. They have not brought a common sense approach to road safety. They have not got a new system of driver training, a new driving test, got local authorities to engineer problems out of roads, reduced and increased road speed limits as appropriate, etc. I,ll come back to this and edit this blog with new issues as I discover them.

The issues I am posting here today the 14th of July 2008 are particularly annoying considering the new website was only launched last week.

Depending on the size of your screen you may need to click on the pictures to see them clearly.

Rules of this blog.

This section of my blog is dedicated to highlighting the mistakes, the anomalies, and the inconsistencies in rules and regulations that are imposed on the citizens of Ireland.

When I post them here I will also send them to the relevant government departments, and if and when they change the issues I raise then it will be firstly acknowledged for one month, and then deleted.

If I get any correspondence regarding these issue,s I will also post those. I know Official Ireland will respond quickly and alter their positions.

One thing I have discovered in dealing with Civil and Public servants as individuals, is they provide an extremely high quality common sense approach to most things, and if you make sense to a civil or public servant, then they will change the rules and regulations unless they are politically stopped.
